Squeaky electric window

My front passenger window has developed an annoying squeak when winding up and I just wondered if anyone has an easy solution without having to take the door apart. -------------------------------------------------------------

Run some silicon (WD40) down the window channel - that should help

Did the silicone not help at all? (Sorry for the negative question).

Then is the problem somewhere else.

If it did help a bit. You could try McLube Sailkote. www.mclubemarine.com Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

I am sure that WD40 is a water-proofer and a proper rubber-lubricant would be better on seals and last longer. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)

Ian, you are correct. Standard WD40 is a water proofer. You should use WD40 Silicone spray as lubricant.
People use WD40 everywhere. Used as designed it is an excellent product. Jim A

A case of the branding being too good. Until recently, I didn’t know that there were variants of the contents of the blue and yellow tin! It’s a bit like calling a vacuum cleaner a Vax/Dyson/Shark/Henry. (Other brands of hoover are available Rolling with laughter )
