Yup, had it done last year as part of the new NHS bowel cancer screening programme. Didn't take very long and was uncomfortable rather than painful. You get a feeling of stomach cramps but it's only because of the air they pump in during the procedure. No after-effects and hopefully a clear result 2012 SD4 XS Santorini Black |

Had it done in Nov 2014 and it identified my prostate trouble. Bowels were given a clean bill of health despite the "biopsies" taken. Yes, very uncomfortable at times, but worth the 10 - 15 minutes of discomfort as the other option was to be put out and that meant staying in a couple of hours after the procedure and you couldn't drive yourself home.Oh, and I also got to watch the whole procedure on the screen. I found it rather fascinating. I mean, when else are you going to get the opportunity to see inside your own body like that, and in real time too. |

Not personally but thanks to Crohns (I have arthritis instead) many of my family (both brothers and a cousin) have and my wife also has regular checks due to Familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP).

Now I know what a H2502 is! In a previous life I used to use intrascopes on an almost daily (or nightly) basis, doing internal inspections on gas turbine engines. Little did I know that in more recent times I would be the subject matter. I have been well and truly kebabbed over recent years, from both ends, looking for a βbleedβ. I learnt all about sigmoidoscopies and double balloons from that!

. . . and not of course forgetting the lovely shorts you get to wear, with that convenient cut-out.

Sid, my mate in Scotland asked them that and nurse said " that's for us to know". If it wasn't so bad it'd be funny.
