Don't mention that communist nazi Khan to me. It's all well and good trying to ban the car and putting everyone on busses and trains, however he conveniently forgets that there a gangs of scumbags just waiting to stick a knife in you on an almost daily basis on these modes of transport.

Nero, anyone?

Lived in London most of my life and no-one has ever tried to stick a knife in me, even on night buses.
Thousands of people in London die prematurely from pollution, much of which comes from diesel vehicles, and it has recently been shown to hinder development of children and to affect foetuses in the womb. Just because you can't see them die doesn't mean your diesel isn't killing people. London public transport is excellent, if you're worried about (very rare) crime you can take a cab. Very few people now drive into London - most of the traffic you see is buses, vans and cabs.
I agree that extending it to the N/S Circular roads is going to cause people problems, but the same rules apply - driving an old diesel or not damaging children and saving lives, which do you prefer? Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone
300TDi Disco (bought new - terrible car) sent back after 18 months
Freelander 1 Estate - leased, given back at end of lease
200TDi Disco (bought from a mate with 100,000 on the clock) - Gone
Disco 2 TD5 - sold and exported to France
FR2 TD4 GS - Gone
FR2 SD4 HSE - Now changed for a DS
New model ex-demo Evoque S 180 in white
Unable to order a new DS, so gave up. Now have a Volvo S90 Recharge.

I don't agree.
I think the London Mayor has got it right, but only for cities.

Outside the cities, in the more rural areas, cars are more essential as they are the most effective means of providing door to door transport. Cities should get subsidised transport for the citizens, and 'park and ride' schemes for those coming from a distance by car.

totally agree, but they need to cut the emissions from the aforementioned buses, vans and cads. Common sense isn't very common.

Buses are done and benefit from cheaper RFL via a reduced pollution certificate which is issued at annual test once tested.

Black cabs though seem to be untouchable for fear of upsetting them Whistle There are plenty of them (older ones) probably not even euro 4 compliant. 2007 TD4 XS The work horse that earns its up keep

That really is a beautiful car. Triumph was a make that make that should have survived, I had a Dolomite Sprint for years and years, and still sold it for a profit. (Picture in Gallery) FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)

Thank you Thumbs Up

It was on my bucket list to own one having worked on a few of them as an Apprentice back in the late 70's. I was lucky enough to buy it 9 years ago now, but it wasn't in the same condition as it is now Cool

Nice looking Sprint, the mirrors suited it well Thumbs Up I also like the Victor, FE I believe Question 2007 TD4 XS The work horse that earns its up keep
