After Market Roof Bars

I have attached a couple of photos of my after market roof bars (bought from ebay), only been on the freelander for 12 months and there is deterioration at the joint between the central bar and side rails (shown in the photos). Haven't had any joy with the seller however I am seeking advice on a possible treatment of the problem, has anyone encountered this and is there a product or treatement that can slow or halt the issue. Any help much appreciated.

I'm wondering if the aluminium is in contact with some steel in those areas. Maybe inside the bars as that sort of white powdery corrosion on aluminium is usually a dissimilar metals type issue. Maybe some rust blocker would delay or slow down the corrosion.

They're just poor qualiy rubbish I'm afraid! Mine have gone the same, even the front & rear end feet. I have removed them due to how they look. I might look into getting them powder coated at some point, if I keep the car a few more years. (Now Sold). 2008 Freelander 2 (Nazca Sand) SE TD4 Auto. Statutory write off & on WOVR for hail damage but still road legal.
