auto box dropping a gear now showing hdc error

hi all

so the fl2 has had the following issue of dropping a gear whilst driving similar to the downshift if you floor it but alot more rough and normally when cruising or just maintaining a constant speed so local LR specialist changed throttle body which seemed to solve said issue plus mpg improved drastically. now for the new problem driving back from cambridge to devon today got stuck in some real heavy traffic suddenly error message hdc fault special programs disablef transmission error then car cut out completly. managed to start it again whilst parked in the nearside lane on the m42. seemed to be ok but happened again after 20 minutes of steady 60mph cruising stopped at services and let the car sit switched off for 45 mins drove the m6 and m5 and fine no issues but did it again when we had to slow for roadworks on an a road. seen a post about changing ATF could there be any other causes

car has done 82k fsh but dont think atf has been changed only code that has shown was egr fault which i blanked a year ago

thanks pete

after reading through some old posts about judder took off and cleaned the crank shaft sensor which was covered in crap probavly imagining it but feels a tad smoother took for a run and up a few steep hills and no judder or error for hdc will also be fitting a 2nd earth strap. will update when it happens again fingers crossed it was something this daft

also did the voltrometric alarm sensor re connect and now works a charm😁
