Agreed, that would have looked really odd in future years now the mileage history is noted on the MOT sheet.

I think that a mileage of around minus 500 next year would have looked even worse. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

The MOT tester said he couldn’t read the odometer properly. The ‘5’ looked like a ‘6’apparently. What with that and the dodgy call on the bushes, I should have recommended he went to Specsavers. Gone:

sounds like an incompetent MOT tester, and I would not use them again, or worry about the advisory.

We're not allowed to refuse to correct the mileage if we put it down wrong but I think it has to be done within a week or it can’t be changed after that (by the mot station anyway). Costs nothing and doesn’t take long. I had to change the mileage on one a month or so ago on my sisters car - after the test I commented that she’d done 35000 miles or so in the last year in her X5 which she hardly uses, looking at the previous mileages recorded but she pointed out to me that her kids had been fiddling with the dash and somehow changed it to Km’s!!! I didn’t notice and just wrote the numbers down. Mistakes can happen, luckily it was family. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

A few years ago I took my wife's car for an MOT, I didnt notice until I got home but the garage had put the mileage as 100000 instead of 10000. I took the car straight back to the garage and a new certificate was issued straight away by a very red faced tester! Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

Now I'm an electrical avionics engineer not trained in the automotive field at all, but I had a good look underneath today at the wishbones and the bushes look perfect to me. Just a little dusty after 50K. So as advised I'll forget about it.......until the next MOT.
