Coolant filler cap?

Hi
I cant fill up coolant because it seems like a part of the cap still blocks when I screwed the cap of. Is it broken - or do I miss something? The part still attached to the expansion vessel i stock - and I cant get it out.

Yes it looks like the middle part of the cap is stuck in,brute force may help but you will need a new cap.

Yep. Get a couple of flat bladed screwdrivers on opposite sides and lever it out. Top up the coolant if required and fit a new one although you could snap that piece back into the cap and reuse it. I have done that before with that type of cap. Apply a little silicon lubricant to the rubber 'O’ ring before refitting so that it comes out easier next time. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto
