It is a bit of common sense, if you have been driving the car hard, towing or lots of very short trips, change it sooner. If lots of low stress long mileage & you don't have a lead foot, not passing road trains with 4 or more trailers on dirt highways (in Australia) & you have not being using the low end crap fuel, a few extra thousand miles is not going to hurt.

You are probably better off replacing the engine air filter sooner than later! My mechanic for the last few decades shows me the crap which was embedded in the air filter, removed via a thorough bashing (ie Basil Fawlty car flogging). Pretty frightening stuff at what comes out & we even turn off the engine on extreme outback dust situations until the dust has gone!

Change the air filter before worrying too much about the oil! Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

The service sheet as issued by Land Rover covers more than one Market area so for Russia it’s correct at what you quoted.

The only Blondes are the ones that would leave it to 15,000 miles Laughing so ignore that figure.

Oil costs Censored all compared to an engine, so 10,000 miles max Thumbs Up and the correct grade.

Mine gets a Land Rover filter at least once a year and goes maybe 6 to 7 K between oil changes.

Matfords on eBay do a genuine service kit for under £60 all in but I won’t use the fuel filter too early as it’s a prat to do so l stick to the service sheet on that. I suspect many garages on a B service miss it off Whistle as we see too many on here cure problems by doing a filter change.

Edit: My last Millers XF Longlife C1 5w30 oil came from a company called Get OffRoad - 10lts delivered £41.64 FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

On my Evoque (and my FL2 when I had it) I average 8-10,000 miles per year. The oil and filter gets changed once per year with a mid-term oil only change. I have a vacuum oil extractor so when changing just the oil there’s no need to jack up, put on stands and remove the dirt shield, it takes less than ten minutes. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

With a DPF it needs to be a C1 oil so I use Millers XF Longlife C1 5w30.

Without a DPF its going to be possible to use a differing grade to C1 but it still needs to meet what was a high Ford specification / grade and spec and should be in the owners manual or on engine sticker on the front panel under bonnet. Won't much cheaper than a C1 oil. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

Good and thanks Steve as one is winging its way up North as of now. Getting too old to be on my back for each oil change especially in this years weather. Will still need to change the filter once a year though. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

I for one was happy with the 15,000 miles between oil changes, at 25-30,000 miles a year it was often enough.

Modern oils are much better than they were and stay in spec for much longer.
Proof of the pudding, 185k miles and not a squeak from the engine, it just ran and ran, original glow plugs the lot. Auto-box on the other hand needs an oil change at least twice as often as the book (150K !).

It does depend on your type of driving - lots of stop start, and/or low mileage, maybe 10k is more sensible.
Tramping up and down the motorway every day, I think 20k would have been fine.

Now the DS says every 21k, but it pours crap into the oil (dipstick level goes up) to reduce particulates, the previous owner did 7k in a year, and it was warning that the oil needed changing at 9k.
Hope a software update at some point reduces the oil dilution. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
Replaced by Ewok what a mistake - now a happy Disco Sport owner
