Firstly, Apologises...

On my Power Magic there are THREE wires, Red, Black and Yellow so after reading all the posts re; hard wiring I am stuck.
Red.. LIVE
Black.. Ground ( find a bolt somewhere )
Yellow.. Clueless... Do I need TWO piggyback fuse holders? and use TWO fuses? also what rating fuse fits in piggybacks?

as you may be able to tell I haven't a clue regarding car electrics and really don't want to blow myself or Florrie up.

cable in around head lining, dash cam mounted on screen now stuck.

any help would be greatly welcomed ( few pics might help )

I don't have a Power Magic so can't give you detailed instructions or pictures, but basically the PM takes two positive supplies - one permanent live and one ignition switched. (I believe the yellow wire is the permanent live and the red the ignition switched live.)

So yes, you will need two piggyback fuses, with one permanently live and the other switched with the ignition.

As I recall, red is to permanent live, yellow to ignition on (but may be wrong). Here are the connections (2010 model HSE)
First shot shows piggy back fuse leads, (both red). Second shot shows joints to Powermagic, one to red, one to yellow.

Hi Jules, I have fitted a PowerMagic Pro to my LR2 for use with the Blackvue 650 twin cameras.
You should have received detailed fittting instructions with your kit, but if you didn’t it is quite straightforward, just very awkward getting to the fuse box. It’s a hands & knees job with plenty of back twisting to get a close look at the fuses.
Use the one in the NS footwell.
I routed the cable down the NS A pillar trim. Removing the glovebox is necessary, but it just pulls out, take care though.
Using a circuit 12v test lamp search for a permanent live then and switched live. There are only a couple of switched live feeds as I recall.
I can’t remember which fuses I connected to but your test lamp will tell you what’s what.
No need for piggy back fuse holders.
Simply remove the fuse and wrap the exposed wire around a fuse leg, then reinsert the fuse back where it came from.
It’s a bit fiddly but they will not come out.
For the Earth I just loosened a bolt on the bodywork in the same area and pushed the terminal between the bolt and body then tightened it.
Just for info, make sure you correctly set the jumper posts on the PMPro to 12v not 24v. Also, if you select the higher voltage setting (to save discharging the battery so much) when you test the system the PMPro green light may not come on if there is not enough charge in the battery.
This may cause you to think your connnections are wrong when they’re not! I found this out the hard way with lots of head scratching.
As such I’d suggest connecting a CTEK trickle charger or similar to make sure the battery is fully charged.

Well, done as suggested used F! and F21 , set the magic power to 12v BUT am I supposed to see any lights on dash cam or something?

I know that this thread is a year old, but my search suggested it the most relevant to my question.

I have had a Blackvue installed in my MY13 recently, with a PowerMagic Pro set to 12v, as described above.

The problem that I am facing is that within a day, when trying to start the Freelander, whilst it does start it displays a low battery warning on the infotainment screen.

The battery has been tested and is ok, plus it gets a trickle charge from my C-Tek each week, however this concerns me - presumably it is a drain somewhere that is causing this? Has anybody else experienced this, or changed their PowerMagic settings to a different voltage?
