Well if it’s out of warranty and they can’t find a problem/they don’t sound confident that is the problem don’t let them just load the parts cannon, because as I stated earlier that’s how the operate there.

Do a search for the earth lead fix from the battery.

A replacement starter improved my cold starting, but it's still not perfect.I fitted a new AGM battery and new 11v glow plugs previously. I was reading a thread on here where a member upgraded the positive battery cable with good results. Food for thought. Good luck. |

With ref to glow plug light. I am sure on here before it was stated that Glowplugs light does not come on until below zero. I have on my car only had light on when minus 1 or lower.. Always give two goes with Glowplugs when very cold before starting. Jim A

The glow plugs are used every time you start a cold engine, both to start and aid the initial running of the engine for a few minutes. The glow plug warning light illuminates when there is a delay between pressing the start button with the clutch/brake pedal pressed (manual/auto gearbox) and the starter turning over. It has to be really cold for that to happen. |

Mine gives just a little hiccup in really cold weather, running a little rougher than normal for 2-3 seconds at most. Approaching 10 years old it's probably due a set of glow plugs. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

Evening, Just a thought on this one. Have you checked the glow-plug relay box and indeed the glow-plug fuse? |
