Yes it's fairly simple, but if you do the conversion at the socket you must remember that you will have two wires with the same colour coding so identify which is the S and N cables, also you will have the two earth wires from each 2 pin sockets. Buy the 13 pin socket that has the gland for two cables rather than the single gland. my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

The easiest way might be to get the Land Rover 13pin electrics kit. Bit pricer but plug and play.

I bought a new 13 pin socket and a metre (ish) of cable. Ran the new cable up in to the boot l/h well via the existing grommet and jointed with the original two cables using a couple of chocolate blocks. Simples!

Interesting on those shots is that LR don't seem to use the standard wiring colours for the 7S cable. I assume that the wires coming in from the top are the original LR wiring and the ones below the blocks are the new 12 core cable? |

That is correct. Twin socket LR cables above, standard 13 pin single cable below.

AFAIK, that plug is part of the dedicated wiring kit which feeds to a relay box located under the l/h boot side trim. Assuming you already have a dedicated wiring kit, but with 12N & 12S sockets (which I had), you connect to the two 7 core cables presently feeding out of the boot grommet to the tow bar sockets. If you don’thave that, then you are on the wrong track & need a dedicated wiring kit.
