new plates year

Hi all

So was in a dealers today and they were sayin it was busy because of the new plates just coming out... so does this mean all lesser year plates will become cheaper?

Might be looking at getting a 13 or 14 but wondering if the new plates would make the older ones become cheaper Question plate and year snobery and all, or dosnt this much matter in the freelander 2 as its a old model?

Ask yourself, would you pay the same money for a 13 plate vehicle as you would for a 14 plate one with the exact same spec and mileage? There’s your answer. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto
Evoque SD4 Dynamic Lux Auto
Present: Audi A3 S Line.

Simple yes i would if it was the same model spec, this is why i was wondering if it would make much diffrence for the lr2 prices re the newer plates coming out as the last gen lr2 is such an outdated model? Yesturday i looked at a 2014 metropolis for £20,500 would it now today be worth 1k less? Hmmm Freelander 57 plate XS Blue Auto

Yes it might be £1000 less, but your 57 plate XS will also be worth £1000 less Big Cry

You can check the price of any car on the Autotrader Website, you just need to enter its Reg Number and mileage, even if you don't own it. Then you choose the various buying and selling values.

I used their 'saved search' feature to track the type and spec of the FL2 I wanted for nearly a year before I found the exact model, colour, mileage, I wanted.
I then bought it very successfully (at a distance) from a main dealer who delivered it complete with warranty.

As 'Jack frost' pointed out, the real cost is the difference between the selling and buying prices. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)
FL2 Metropolis SD4 Auto 2014 2017- (16k - 77k+ miles) (MY2015)
Metro in its 11th Year of (Extended) LR Warranty / Full LR Service History
(Expensive, but Trouble/Worry free - hopefully?)

I am not sure that the new plate phenomenon is as important as it used to be when there was only one change per year on the 1st August. I remember a Ford dealership that had midnight parties so that people could drive their new Mondeos home to have them on the drive before breakfast. Very sad 😢 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

Still a few sad bunch like that up here. My local LR dealer does it twice a year! I avoid that dealer at all costs however.... MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior
