oil leakage - rear crankshaft seal problem?

Hi Everyone

I have issue with oil leakage and try to see if you have face similar issue?
Car is LR2 2008, running for 206,000 kms now. MOdel: i6 HSE Petrol

Is it because of rear crankshaft seal? Any solution for this? Is the product like this will help?

It may work - but what else does it block?

I once had a radiator leak and used some Rad Weld for a quick repair. - worked but then it was overheating!

No idea, I probably just leave it for now unless that oil leakage is too much, will monitor the impact of leakage if I could just top up and go Smile

Recent service spotted a sump pan oil leak ,three months later due to parts car has gone in and the work is being done under warranty .So fixing this it was discovered the gear box seal is leaking , rear main oil seal leaking , upper bed plate seal leaking and finally oil fed pipe to the turbo charger leaking, Are any of these parts covered under warranty. The freelander2 is Oct 2011 bought it 22 months ago came with a 2 hear warranty

Ask the warranty provider, non of us are party to your arrangement with them or what promises have been made as you don’t even say if it’s a an approved LR warranty.

Etiquette within this group is generally based on some form of introduction and pleasantaries to nurture assistance. Rolling Eyes FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

Marc, which engine do you have? The OP was an i6 Petrol. For future users doing a search, it would be helpful to know whether your list of oil seals was also i6, or if it was TD4 or SD4.

I wonder if they really know which seal is leaking or, since they have it all apart are simply replacing everything they can? 2005 D3 2.7 Auto

A genuine approved warranty is for 2 years I understand so throw it back at 22 months to another dealer if the current dealers are so slack to not get it corrected to be corrected. A leak is a leak and 2 years warranty is 2 years not a day less FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years
