would be interested to know the answer as well - missus wants an ipad but am considering giving her my old ipad air and investing in a new one, bit of a mine field, standard or pro and three different screen sizes to pick from... |

Looking about, the standard 9.7" iPad that is out now is a downgrade from the iPad air 2 that I have. Thicker and with a few bits removed. Still perfectly okay for what we would need at the moment but I am a bit of a sucker for the latest and greatest and any excuse to upgrade! If the wife didn't want my old one, I wouldn't even be considering it and of course the mini4 she has at the moment could be sold on. Maybe the 10.5" Pro is more than I need at the moment but should be pretty futureproof for a good few years. I think I need to take a trip to the Apple Store to have a look and a feel. I would go with the Pro 10.5, it does everything and as you say shouldn't date too quickly.
