3G? 3G? Pah! I get 4G It only drops down to 3G in poorer signal areas down here. I know what you mean though - when we go away to the Peak District, not only is broadband S L O W (less than 2Mbps) but it's sometimes impossible to even get DAB or bog standard radio signals in the car! I don't know how you stand it! Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto Evoque SD4 Dynamic Lux Auto Present: Audi A3 S Line. |

Don't knock it. That system worked fine in 1588 when the Spanish Armada arrived (was that a 0G system?). Data rate was a bit low at 1 bit but better than you get in some areas today. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

Like Dorsetfreelander I had a car phone back in the 80's - the size of a suitcase strapped in the boot. In those days it was analogue and some how or other the phone was cloned and I received a bill for about £6,000. From about 5pm on the Friday until 6am on the Monday every minute was taken up with calls to Islamabad, Karachi and numerous other towns and cities in Pakistan.
