i6 tuning chip on eBay

http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/CHIP-BOX-OBD-CHIPT...2514934774

As my engine was a brand new LR replacement with now only around 28000 on it, I was wondering whether anyone here with a higher mileage engine was willing to give this a go, as I don't wish mine going bang with such low miles on it.
I can't see what benefits could be gained, but then I'm not technically minded. If something breaks, I just swap it out rather than fix it.
Anyone with an i6 ever tuned theirs?

.

Are you serious Shocked

You want another forum member to take the risk by "willing to give this a go" because you don't want to blow up your own engine?

There are currently several trusted and tested companies doing tuning boxes and all of them are not using OBD type of piggy bank.
I would not suggest to try it.

I've got a i6 with 102500 miles on it and there's no way in hell I would put that on it, got more than enough power as it is.

Would you like to buy some magic beans? Thumbs Up Common sense isn't very common.

It was meant a little tongue -in-cheek. I thought I'd put this emoticon ( Whistle ) at the end of the the first sentence.
But hey, I was tired . It was 00.55 and I should have been asleep . Never a good idea to post when you're knackered and should be in bed. Very Happy
I was more interested in whether anyone had chipped an i6.
I had zero interest in buying that thing on eBay. It just got me thinking on whether or not anyone had actually chipped or tuned their i6.

I have the Si4, basically the same performance as the i6. How much power do you need? The car goes like a rocket!

To some degree I bought my Freelander based on this review.

Especially this bit:
"While Land Rover’s official figure for the 0-100kmh sprint is a respectable 8.8 seconds, it feels quicker than that. We timed it for several runs using our stopwatch and it cracked the 100kmh mark in just 7.96 seconds. Consistently."

My sister has an HSE diesel Evoque, the petrol engine shi_s all over the diesel rubbish. Life is too short to drive a diesel! Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

Yeah, know exactly what you mean.
I read your post at 01:15 and was going to respond then.
But thought "No", I'll wait until the morning and provide a more balanced and pleasant response.
So that's what I did.

Please don't tempt me. The other half said she would kill me if I bought any more. Shocked
However I would like to know who did your LPG conversion. I'm looking at getting mine done ASAP but locally nobody seems to have done the i6 or offer the conversion for the i6 with the valve lubricator. Also I'd like to give the job to someone who has already carried out the conversion on an i6 so know what they are doing.
Thumbs Up

sorry but can't help much as it was already done when I bought it, that's why I bought it, think it was a firm in Kent but they are no longer in business, you get a good size tank in the wheel well, problem is storing the spare wheel, mine is strapped to the back of the offside single passenger seat, as the boot is already small it can be a issue, daughters two labs don't like it!
last car I had done was a Volvo xc70 by a firm in Cardiff did a very good job at a good price and as far as I know they are still going. Common sense isn't very common.
