All the reviews I've seen for any Nexen tyre goes along the lines of avoid like the plague for wet braking, cornering and aquaplaning.

Not experienced any of that just yet, but im not going to change them just for the sake of it unless they cause me problems.
interesting to note though cheers, Ill definitely keep an eye out in the wet.

When it does eventually come to replacement time, I'll most probably be looking at Pirelli All season or similar just because I have more faith in branded mid range rubber.

I think Nokian Weatherproof SUV will be my next choice. Just a shame they don't have a rim protector.

Last week I fitted a set of 236/65/17 .... INSA Turbo Dakar Desert track. On 17" steel Land Rover rims.

got them off eBay for £160 ...... the set of 4 ...... ready to fit. Only had to get the correct wheel bolts.

Little noisy between 30-40...... then on motorway they quieten down at 50-60.

This place gives the Nexen a pretty good review.

Whats with the low filler cap ? LPG ?

Those tyres may just shake out the drive train compared to some soft roading tyres. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years
FL2 MY13 TD4 GS Current

The Freelander is NOT the i6 ..... its a TD4.

the lower filler cap ? ...... is actually a side facing reverse lamp.

I have one on the other side as well.

I do in fact have a second filler cap ......... this is for mains hook-up ....... to run the kitchen/fridge..... recharge batteries ....etc ...

some nice little exped mods there. Normally only see stuff like that on defenders

have you removed the rear seats as well, as I notice you have a slide out floor/table out the boot

the rear seat bases have been removed, backs folded down. to allow a slide-out floor, for kitchen.

yes its common to see such mods on a Defender ......... but anyone can do that. Laughing

the swing-away rear wheel carrier is a total custom, built it last year.

Where the spare is normally stowed has been carpeted inside and an access hatch inserted in the original floor.

don't get too big headed Laughing ............. but those are all pretty ingenious mods on a Freelander Bow down

had a browse through your gallery too and your FL1's look nice and unique too. I love both my FL1 3 Door, I liked being able to remove the roof in summer and have the hard top in winter.
