Had my gearbox flushed at 116k miles. The difference in oils is outstanding Shocked

Did mine in my Evoque a few weeks ago at 54k. I did 6 'dump and fills' and used 20 litres of fluid before it looked decent.

I used this in my Evoque - I believe the later FL2's use the same spec (JWS 3324). Earlier ones use JWS 3309 oil fluid.

Thanks Steve D I have a 2014 FL2 which uses the same LR024460 fluid, LR customer services keep telling me it's JWS3309 as do Aisin but I think as you it's JWS3324 it is like pulling hens teeth to get a definitive answer form at LR.

I had recommendations from others regarding that oil. Before buying, I contacted the supplier with my vehicle details and they confirmed it was the correct fluid for my car. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

I stripped out mine as well

Here is what I used to remove the Torx bolt

Neiko 01925A Screw Extractor and Left Hand Drill Bit Set, 10 Piece | Alloy Extractors | Cobalt HSS Drill Bits |





Now I have about 5 LR002908 bolts sitting on my shelf, just in case I strip out another one

I have read this thread as I want to change my ATF soon the vehicle is A 2010 with 36,000 miles and the diff has just been re built, that has quietened down the rumbling now but I had the feeling the gear changes could be better.
I want to go to fully synthetic oil and wondered about Millermatic ATF SP III-WS.
One question I have is if I use the drop the fluid and top up again method will the box be happy with the mix of original fluid and the new fully synthetic which will be in there until I do more drop and top changes.
In which case the synthetic percentage will grow higher over a short period

Why not just use the original Mobil 3309 as it is the same cost as the Millermatic from Opie Oils?

I think the earlier models have to use semi-synth. As said, why not use the correct fluid. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

Yes I will consider that, but my aim was to go to fully synth. I believe that fully synth lubricants have made great advances in vehicle reliability and having just had my rear diff re built at 36k miles , certainly when the warranty on the re build is up I will swap the oil out and put in a higher spec lubricant
