Scotland 2013 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Buckingham Blue
Dealer offer

Just had a letter from the dealer where I bought the motor.

They are offering an 'efficiency check' ?! Shocked
This includes checks on tyres, pressures, air con, oil, engine management, brakes, air filter, software upgrade, manufacturer quality enhancements (?!) topped off with a wash and vaccuum.
And the cost?

£9.99 Shocked Shocked

If only I was confident they wouldn't 'find' anything to work on costing hundreds of pounds I might take em up on it.

They don't even seem to do half that on the servicing! Rolling Eyes

Anyone else had this offer?

I have had a health check done on my car, didn't cost anything as it done whilst in a warranty issue,

Then 2 months later i was told my brakes needed doing, due them been 95% and 80% on the rears, surely i should have been told they was getting low 2 months earlier, and i could have shopped around instead of paying them £360 Rolling Eyes Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

I think dealers are doing all they can to drum up trade, times are hard for them ... Big Cry

However, I think we have every right to be suspicious, there is plenty of evidence on here that a lot of them just can't be trusted.

I fell foul of the brake replacement last week at my 45k service, I was quite shocked that all four discs were replaced (and of course pads). I was told they were replaced because they wouldn't make it to 60k miles. I’m sure they make a tidy mark up on that job.

I was told that my car was highest mileage they’d seen for a first brake replacement – I think that was supposed to make me feel better. I bet my fleet manager didn't feel too good about it. Stornoway Grey GS ... What a fine motor Smile ... but not any more ... Big Cry ... psst look at my gallery!
