Hi,

I have an 07 TD4 L359, drives like a dream with the only mods being refurbished leather steering wheel and replaced airbag unit plus EGR blanked also crankcase breather hose replaced.

I am experiencing wheel vibration through the steering wheel whilst braking, particularly on the approach to a halt or traffic island. I am under the conclusion that this may well be due to disc wear as they are due to be replaced.

No signs or any wobble at any other time.

Any info most welcome

Yes - A good start, get the discs and pads replaced if they have not been done recently and are showing a lot of wear. Bleed out the old fluid at the same time if not done for 3 years.  FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

I currently have the same problem. Replaced all discs and pads but the problem is still there.

Hi,

Not due to start toolbox rattling until a few weeks time , but I will check the calliper's + pistons for retraction (all four), new fluids and disc fit (full fit & function) plus possible run out.

Once done prior to wheel refit will check bushes & track rod ends etc.

Next stop will be wheel alignment (all four wheels) and rebalance + run out , failing that it'll be loads of splinters after head scratching.

Other jobs are ahead of this unfortunately, but will post ASAP when done.

I took mine for 4 wheel laser alignment and i was told they were already perfectly aligned.

Diagnostic checked out as warped disc plus other minor issues

Had this on a transit and it turned out to be worn front suspension bushes. Totally different suspension though (leaf springs!)
Took several months and three dealers to diagnose. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone
300TDi Disco (bought new - terrible car) sent back after 18 months
Freelander 1 Estate - leased, given back at end of lease
200TDi Disco (bought from a mate with 100,000 on the clock) - Gone
Disco 2 TD5 - sold and exported to France
FR2 TD4 GS - Gone
FR2 SD4 HSE - Now changed for a DS
New model ex-demo Evoque S 180 in white
Unable to order a new DS, so gave up. Now have a Volvo S90 Recharge.
