I don't know how old your Freelander is, but if it's less than 6 years old, JLR have an obligation to repair the unit, even outside of their 3 year warranty (which, laughably, excludes infotainment systems). The Consumer Rights Act 2015 states very clearly that goods must be of satisfactory quality, which clearly yours isn't. Forget the 3 year factory warranty, the very fact that you are in possession of an internal document acknowledging an inherent known fault would be the golden ticket to getting it repaired at their expense.

That is very new - the data is still as of Q3, 19 but that is a lot better than the previous version.

Given that we'll be staying a lot closer to home the next few years think I'll leave the update for now. If I can't navigate the A and B roads of the UK with what I have i'd be safer staying at home anyway |
