I would guess your absolutely correct, I believe they are Subaru/Volvo/Jaguar map updates, most likely Navteq.

I have just purchased a 2013 LR Freelander 2 Dynamic and the sat nav is set to Belgium and gives me no option for entering UK postcodes or changing the map to UK - any ideas please? I have yet to check the version in my car, but I could not see a DVD under the seat, so assume it is a USB update and will possibly have to go to Navigation.com to purchase an updated USB. Would appreciate any advice. Cheers |

If it's a 13my, then it will take a USB.

Thanks Vanny - where is the USB located please? At present the map that shows in background is Europe but not UK. It does tell me what roads I am on eventually but definitely resets to Brussels on start up. It is very frustrating. Anyway, I will persevere |

How does the USB update work then. Do you just simply slot it into the USB connection and it downloads. Can it be used more than once? If so it’s very expensive at £169. |

The USB port on a 13 FL2 is in the centre console under the sliding door.

As a reminder there has not been an updated release of software since the 2018/19 version for the Gen 2.1 system - which will be based on maps from Sept 2017. MY13 HSE Lux Santorini Black Gone

Vanny. That’s the site I was looking at. Mighty expensive. Think I will pass for now. Google maps is a great standby if the satnav can’t find the location. |

Even though I have latest maps,I still use Waze or Tomtom on my phone as satnav, as they are still better for traffic conditions than using the updated maps on the Freelander. |
