When this happened to me, I called LR Assist, it turned out to be a problem with the fuel filter, took him about an hour to sort it out complete with resetting fault code information. |

Dear Friend, it was also common in my FL2 SD4, whenever he thought of reaching the quickdown was immediate engine power reduction, many spoke in air intake for turbine hose, but it came down to simple fuel filter exchange LR007373 (except error). Big hug!

It could be any number of things - the "reduced performance" mode is designed to protect the engine when there is a fault. As npinks says above, you need to have the fault codes read, otherwise you could be replacing half the car before you find the reason!
