Trying to update Satnav

Good afternoon

I'm trying to update (from a LR USB stick) my Freelander 2 satnav maps.

It seems I have to leave the ignition on, to achieve this, and it apparently takes two and a half hours, or so.

Of course, after about 10 minutes or so, it automatically switches itself off, so progress is negligible (so far, 0%), because I haven't the time to keep returning to the vehicle every quarter of an hour - nor am I particularly keen on leaving the key in the vehicle.

Other than driving aimlessly around for a couple of hours, or more (during which time the satnav, radio, etc, doesn't work), how on earth can one get the stupid thing to update, unattended?

Thanks! Chris

Thanks. Well I've run the engine for almost an hour, and it's 45% done. I'll go for a run tomorrow... Chris
