avtur. As my LR2 is not due to be delivered until early May I haven't been able to try my old mirrors on a it. However I would think the extra large mirrors (M49) on the following url should fit. Please note the price is for only one mirror.

I haven't had the van behind the car yet. However the van is a max width van at 2.29metres, if the mirrors do give a view down the side of the van it will be marginal at best. As much as additional mirrors are a pain I cannot consider driving without them. (probably the truck driver in me that prefers large clear mirrors...) |

In that case, I am sorry, but in most cases, you are breaking the law: http://www.caravanwise.co.uk/caravan-tips/towing-mirrors.html and: http://www.caravanclub.co.uk/media/1022769...ors-mo.pdf You MUST be able to see down the side of the van an area to a width of 4 metres at a distance of 20 metres behind the driver. You cannot do this when the normal vehicle mirrors are at a narrower width than the towed 'van. Through vision or not. It does not matter whether you have not been stopped, unless your 'van is narrower than your standard mirrors, there is no option. Sorry, but that is the truck driver in me speaking, too. Ignore them, I'm not comfortable driving unless I can see down the sides, nature of the job I think also. Only this week I've seen two Mitsubishi Shogun Sports, which are quite narrow, one towing a Lunar Lexon and the other a Senator Wyoming with no towing mirrors, the one towing the Lunar was a lucky boy, he changed lanes just as he was about to overtaken by a motor cyclist who was just by his offside rear corner, only the riders sharp actions saved him from being knocked off. He was still non the wiser on what he had done. You only have to stand at the rear corner with the van in a straight line, if you cannot see the mirrors you need extended ones. |

Sorry to ignore your inquiry, Ox. The brackets can be quite simple, basically shaped flat plates bent at 90 degrees. You may be able to get some made up locally. They don't need to be heavy steel. Alloy sheet would suffice. If you are still stuck, I do have a surplus twin socket bracket that fits on the left side only. It is not new, with flaking paint and surface corrosion but you are welcome to it for the cost of the postage. Get back to me if interested. I use a pair of millenco mirrors, with the retro fitted pads on the clamps. The original clamps were ok, but the wedge shaped ones suffer much less vibration.
