2009 Freelander 2 TD4 S Auto Zermatt Silver

Vibration at high speed.

Hi Guys

I am new to the forum and have introduced myself in the general category. I was wondering if I could ask a question. My 2009 td4 has a vibration at high speed roughly 120km/h up. I have got brand new perrelli scorpion atrs on which have had balanced twice however the vibration persists. Any ideas? Maybe a sideshaft or propshaft?

Hi I've got the same tyres, The Scorpion ATR was sold as one of the quietest most road focused ATR tyres available. At 75 mph the thing is just gliding along on the 17" rims. Did it only start when you had the tyres changed ? Hi I have just bought the vehicle the vibration was worse with the previous set of tyres on. I watched them rebalance all 4 wheels yesterday so it should be right.

Hi Guys

It looks like it may be prop shaft related as rear part of the shaft has been worked on by a prop shaft company. I have ordered a replacement.

Check that the handbrake isn't too tight - it really can cause a judder. Okay, mine was on but if it's slightly rubbing it will get hot, and expand the shoes, get tighter, get hotter, expand the shoes......

Hi guys
Problem solved it was the propshaft. Someone had botched a repair previously causing the vibration. Check pics new and old.
