Wife had a merc for a short time that didn't have a service book as it was all electronic. I don't know about LR. But Mercedes has a user portal where you can download the history. With your car I would get a print out of the electronic service history from your dealer and keep it safe. Then if you use an indy for your servicing just keep all the invoices together with the service history print out. You'll have all the information together if you choose to sell the car at a later date. Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

Personally I could not be bothered, I have all the service history from my independent mechanic.

Your service history is available online to print off or look over.

Sorted - found another website where you have to apply for a keycode before you can register Jules |

If you search on here you'll find info on how to register - the OSH code is e-mailed to you by LR. No need to buy a service book - download one free from TOPIx.

Seems a very crafty way to make sure you always go back to the main dealer.

Pretty sure you don't have to go to the main dealer, an Indy if he subscribes to Topix can access the history, me couldn't care less about the book, what is it, a page with the date, milage and a dealer stamp, easily forged doesn't mean Jack. As others have said you have a countdown service reminder, I always keep my receipts for any work or parts fitted, much harder to forge, I have all the service receipts, date, what mileage, where done, by which garage, what parts where fitted, says a lot more than a service book. Even the online version can be down loaded and you will get a lot more information than what's in a service book, the booklet can easily get lost also. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior |
