Thanks everyone for the advice we have decided to go for it, the garage is sorting some body work and having the wheels refurbished ready for when we collect. It's got full service history so fingers crossed it will be all good and serve us well. Just bit nervous going for older vehicle, wish me luck lol |

I have been towing caravans for many years, using Honda Accord, Mitsubishi Shogun/Pajero and BMW 530d estate before swapping to my Freelander four years ago. Nothing comes close in terms of ease of towing - you'll love it. My local independent LR dealer reckons the Freelander 2s are the most reliable cars Land Rover have ever produced. He, like me, is a big fan of the automatic gearbox over the manual ones. Good luck, welcome to the Forum and enjoy your caravanning! Ours - 2008 Stornoway Grey HSE Auto

Correct, I went from 2008 FL2 GS Manual -> 2014 Insignia 2.0 Cdti SRI -> 2010 FL2 HSE Auto . . . . My only regret was not going for the FL2 HSE Auto instead of the FL2 GS Manual. Insignia was fun and fast but not as good as a FL2 IMO |

Get an auto, these days I couldn't be bothered with a manual. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

RogB, I was interested as why if he was changing to an older FL2, was the Insignia 2013 only worth that of a 2007 HSE, possible, seems it could be worth more my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

The insignia used prices plummet faster than you can imagine. My son's 2013 1.8 sri with 30k on the clock is only worth about £6500 to trade. |

Yea we are swapping the insignia for the fl2 which should suit us better, as for the insignia prices they are silly cheap now most garages only wanted give me between 8500/9000 for a mint car with 26k full main dealer history nav etc. Should be getting it in a week or so after its had the wheels refurbished and some minor body work I was not happy with |
