The screen heater is in two halves. On my 2007 HSE I had the same problem. I removed the plastic cover over the battery and could see the connector for the passenger half of the windscreen. It was corroded so cleaned it up and it all worked.

Mines the same, I have a white residue around the screen on the left side, so looks like the screen is delaminating and moisture has got in there causing it to fail.

I have the same issue on my 2007, although its not quite half that has failed, Its the right hand side (right in my view) that doenst work, about 1/4 of the screen.. I did see in the handbook the L/H and R/H fuse but as it wasnt the full half that has failed i didnt think it would be the fuse. Any ideas?

Tried the fuses but had to wait until this weekend to use the windscreen heater as we have had no frost.
