The grill itself has about 3 layers of differing fitments, all bonded together.
It is quite deep, extending down to the lower mesh. FL2 now gone and have a couple of items left for sale:-

Brodit active iPhone holder + Brodit dash clip,
Bluetooth Music Streaming Module.

The grill is all bonded together, but yes you can separate the surround by splitting the plastic welds.

But why do you want to remove the surround? FL2 now gone and have a couple of items left for sale:-

Brodit active iPhone holder + Brodit dash clip,
Bluetooth Music Streaming Module.
