Lawnmower Oil

New lawn mower says Sae 15w/40 oil

I have some Briggs and Stratton oil it doesn't say 15w but says SAE 30 I assume this is not suitable

I also have some castrol 15w/40 laying about in the garage which is a few years old, will that be ok?

Scotland 2014 Freelander 2 TD4_e Dynamic Manual Fuji White

The old 15W 40 will be fine as long as the oil is clean and not contaminated etc. Oil is oil and it's the same grade, old clean oil will be fine for a petrol mower.

I'm sure if I'm incorrect a mechanic/petroleum engineer will keep me right! MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior

Just come across a second user manual and this has different requirements

I think I could use all of them

Normally a mower is 30 grade but the Castrol multigrade 15/40 would also be fine.

Based on that picture, I'd stick with the 10W-30

I wouldn't use the 5W-30 unless you're planning on mowing your lawn in sub-zero temperatures.
