Has anybody any experience of the rear main oil seal leaking . My wifes 07 plate is leaking oil and a dealer tech friend says its a fairly common issue . I've read that the new seals don't seal correctly and the tech says they have had issues regarding this . We are looking at around £750 for a new clutch/seal and possible flywheel but I'm a bit put off by the problem reoccurring again. Any advice gladly welcome .

Hi there.
Yes, my car started dripping oil at about 40 miles. The independent dealer i bought it from took it in and replaced it without question. they are a LR / RR specialist and said it is a known issue. It is an expensive repair as the labour content is high. FL2 HSE Lux 2011 SD4 Gallway Green.
