Black smoke - Fixed by replacing intercooler hose LR066429

About 3 weeks ago I went through a toll gate, and when pulling off I noticed some black smoke from the exhaust. For the rest of the trip I did not notice it again. While travelling in town from home to work and back I noticed that between gear changes it was like the car was "gasping for air" and when it came back I noticed the black smoke again. I read this forum and found references to hoses with cracks or cuts or EGR. The smoke became progressively worse and today I decided to take it to our local LR dealer. The technical advisor drove the vehicle and suspected it to be the intercooler hose. I booked the vehicle in and was later informed that it was indeed the mentioned hose. They replaced it with "intercooler hose - LR066429". Very chuffed!! Car runs beautifully again!! I share for interest sake!!

Kind regards and thanks for a wonderfull forum!! Thumbs Up
