Transmission Fault - Warning Message

Hello All

I'm driving a FL2 GS TD4.e, this morning had a warning message - Transmission Fault - Reduced Traction, and the Terrain Response indicator light went out. No warning lights.
It's still under warranty and is booked in with supplier, but, I was just after ' a clue' as to what triggers this message - if there are a million and one possibilties for this, please don't list them.
Thanks for any 'sensible' advice.

Colin

Mine has had this, and was recently fixed by Harwoods Tonbridge

Issues with the oil Pump in Haldex.

I had this on my last Freelander. Generally they will replace a sensor first, if that doesn't work, the oil pump is next as PC says.

I also had this fault in the summer. Called LR assist and was booked in to have it looked at. In the end all it needed was the rear diff oil flushing as they said it was a bit thick and could have been contaminated but no damage done to the pump. 3k miles later still ok. Fingers crossed.

LR assist just left. There were two software updates but they haven't cured the problem, so off to the garage tomorrow. The guy said the sensor in the Haldex is vulnerable but mine looked ok with no obvious external loose wiring or oil leak, so he thinks it's the sensor...watch this space.

Slightly off topic ~ This is the first time I have called LR assist and I am well impressed with the service. On time, courteous (even on a friday night in the rain) and interested on what I had diagnosed using this forum. He has arranged a like for like hire car to meet me at 8am tomorrow at the local dealer.
Even better, turns out he lives about half a mile away Laughing _________________

Well FL2 now at the dealer, and I am 'slumming it' in an SD4 auto Evoque. Neutral

I am surprised how much lower it is compared to the freely. It's nice to borrow it for a few days, but I'd much rather have my car back. It's probably just me, but I'm sure drivers of the fairer sex point and drool at the Evoque, while blokes are looking at it thinking "there's someone who couldn't stretch to a RRS. Whistle
I really like the paddle shift, but I miss looking at half an acre of bonnet as I drive. _________________

Thanks pcheaven & Wizking Bow down

- Dealer called today to say the problem is the oil pump in the rear diff. Should be replaced and fixed by tomorrow if new pump arrives. _________________

Thanks for your responses. Although there was Fault Code found (though not detailed on the report I requested) my Landy had just the software-update installed (Tues. 16th), so far so good!

That's really good news Colin.
When yours and mine developed the same symptoms at about the same time on the same day I thought it must be a software update, but although there were two outstanding updates, neither resolved it.
Since the oil pump in rear diff was changed five days ago (under warranty) I haven't had any problems.

Fingers crossed yours remains fixed. _________________
