I have tried to fit a tuning module to my FL, but it will not work. I originally had it for my 2003 TD4,
and it worked. I sent it back to be re calibrated for my 2007 FL2 - and it worked.
I tried fitting it to my current 2011 FL2, but it will not start.

I have had several conversations with Ron at TuningDiesels who has been extremely helpful beyond
expectations. I returned it to him, it has been checked over and no problems found with it. Still it would
not work. Ron has even sent me a brand new one to try...AND STILL IT DOES NOT WORK!

Has anyone any ideas? Will the engine not accept it for any reason? I am at a loss, Ron cannot understand
why it will not work, having had no previous problems.

there are difference between the early 2006-2009 TD4 engines and the later 2010-2012 TD4 engines. I know for one the power is down from 160bhp to 150bhp so I would assume there are other differences.

I think they were altered to allow for DPF and other emissions based 'improvements'

I could be wrong but if you pop the bonnet and there are the ''pan pipes'' on top of the engine its the earlier TD4, no pipes means its the later.

Basically your 2007 tuning box may not be compatible with your 2011 engine due to design differences by LR

Spoke to Ron today regarding tuning module. One last possibility! It could be dependent on the
make of the ECU module. So......

Did they change the ECU on 2010 - 2011 engines?

Does a separate ECU control the fuel rail?

Where can I find it?

I know power definitely dropped but not checked torque figures. Could be they changed a few more things to improve real time response
