About 3 yrs- it 'blew' the connector going into the shower- so mains cold water going for app 4 hours in upstairs bathroom- hence need of Fire brigade ! 2011 XS,Sumatra Black, GONE MARCH 2014- RR Evoque Prestige 5 door ,MY 2014,Loire Blue, Silver Roof, Panoramic roof.

it just needed a new connector (to contact the mains water) for the bottom of shower unit. Moved house- new house and similar thing happened- but this time it was connector to a power shower units- the plumber had used a plastic coupler- after the damage Insurers plumber said it was 'legal' but not a good idea and replaced with copper fittings 2011 XS,Sumatra Black, GONE MARCH 2014- RR Evoque Prestige 5 door ,MY 2014,Loire Blue, Silver Roof, Panoramic roof.

thanks for the info, but it sounds like your problem was not related to the actual shower unit itself like mine is,

It may be due to a shock pulse in the system, you like us probably have a high water pressure, if you loo supply valve is set to a high fill rate you can get a shock as the ball valve closes, we hear it in the combi boiler, if this also depends on the distance the cistern is from the shower and how the two are run from the cold supply. my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

I had same problem. Replacement plastic brackets are available on eBay and Amazon amongst others for about a tenner. Just search "Mira sport bracket". Just watch there are two types; one for showers up to 1998 and the other for those after. It's easy to tell which one you need from the pictures. If you're otherwise happy with the shower it saves all the messing about swapping over |
