I'm a company director, I work with my wife's family. We sell and manufacture chiropody and beauty products. I work on the manufacturing side of the business. I work mostly on the shop floor, drive a van now and again, drive a forklift, fix chiropody chairs and run the manufacturing machines. Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

Retired but busy busy, tinkering with my 56 MG Magnette, oh the joy of old cars. Spent all my working life as an aircraft engineer, military and Govt. apart from a 3 year spell in Dante's Inferno aka the Swindon Rover plant building sub assys for Rover 200/25 for Longbridge, where red Robbo was alive and festering under the surface of the British car industry. I own a small training centre teaching school kids basic car/motorbike/bike maintenance as part of their curriculum. We are a City & Guilds accredited centre and we have contracts with the local schools and authorities. We deal with mainstream, excluded and special needs kids but never at the same time! Keeps me young. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

I think your Hotpoint is probably about the last of those still made by Hotpoint rather than a re-badged Indesit which is all they are now. Most machines will churn on for 5 or 6 years nowadays - even the real cheapo ones. If you want pretty much guaranteed longevity and service support then nowadays Miele are the only option if you can face the initial cost. We have a 16 yr old dishwasher, a 30 yr old tumble drier and a 5yr old washing machine. My wife wants some new appliances but to her annoyance I keep fixing the old ones. I keep telling her that all the internal parts are the same and proved it to her recently when the dishwasher needed a new heater and I discovered that the same element apparently fits 57 different machines. I must go, I have to fix our 405 line B/W television. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto 5 x FL2 4 manual + 1 auto Now Discovery Sport P250 MHEV SE |
