Farewell :'(

My Metropolis is going back to be sold on (Nov 64 plate with 19000 miles and one careful owner) so took the opportunity to get it mucky on some local tracks this weekend. It's been a wonderful car and hopefully one of you guys end up with it Cool

Alas no CG, however a mate of mine is a mortgage advisor there.

My Dad is selling his X-Trail for a 11MY XS so will at least keep a foot in the door. Now:

off loading the x-trail makes perfect sense Thumbs Up

Mrs G likes the black wheels, suspect they will get kerbed and show the grey alloy underneath.

We are still considering a black/white 'panda' DS.

Although keeping the RRS and buying a sporty run-around appeals also, especially for the drudge of the school run.

Probably as good a time to buy a used VW as any Whistle Ive got a chimney sweep brush already. At work

As the "Handover Police" at work are very fussy about wheel damage and given the 20" wheels, I won't be getting the DS half as mucky as I did the Metro. When it comes to it's eventual replacement I'll avoid the 20" wheels and go for a more standard HSE or HSE Lux. Now:

Good luck with the new car!

I am so disappointed with the Disco Sport! Looks loads better than the Freelander 2, but the interior is a let down!

The chances are i'll still end up with one, but not just yet. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........

I'm fine with the interior, it's more the thimble for a fuel tank. 15 miles remaining on display - full to brim with 48 litres and I'm staring at a theoretical 290 mile range!!! Ok it's only got 110 miles on now (and economy matches the SD4 already) so hope things improve. Now:

MY DS is very frugal on fuel

I had a 2.2 HSE AUTO as a loaner for a week, and got 40+mpg going up north and back

My current 2.2 HSE Auto DS (1000 miles on clock) just averaged 39.8 mpg on a regular trip from Tunbridge Wells to Chigwell and back.
It was the tail end of rush hour, Censored down, heated everything on.
My FL2 never averaged more than 33 on that run.

Neglected to mention that mine is a 2.0. When originally ordered it was a 2.2...

I tried a colleague's 2.2 manual and did an easy 500 miles on a tank - that would have been useful. Guess I'll be on first name terms with the cashier at the petrol station (my beef is range not fuel consumption). It's the same as my previous Impreza WRX, although that averaged 22 mpg! Now:

I love the look of the DS, I just felt let down in other areas. I'll look at the D5 next year, which will hopefully retain the high seating position of the current Disco and a better laid out interior. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200
