MY2011 Tow bar electrics activation

Hi, lots of info on hear about coding the car for a towbar but not the info I'm after.

Please can somebody tell me what and how long it takes to code the car?

I fitted a towbar (about a year or so ago) to tow my motorbike trailer. It's a witter bar and has non genuine plug in electrics so no bypass relay etc.

My indicators and brake lights work but I have no sidelights on the trailer board. I also get the trailer indicator light flash with the indicators.

As my car is in for MOT and service with the dealers tomorrow I asked for a price for the coding. When I was quoted 122+ vat I nearly chocked on my tea.
When asked why it was so high I was told that it was an hours labour to calibrate various sensors around the car!

Is this true? how long does it take? Are the sidelights not working because of the coding?

Lastly does anybody know of somewhere in the West Sussex area who has the kit to code our cars.

Thanks for any info/experience that anyone has.

Thanks.

Car is already in for service and an MOT so minimum labour charge should not matter.
