Strange Rear Light Issue

Hi

Firstly greetings from a first-time Freel2.com poster... I came across this forum today and have been really impressed by the amount of great info available so thought I would jump on board! Smile

I have an issue with the NSR light cluster on my FL2. Basically, when the headlights are on the cluster goes totally dead when I hit the brakes (indicator as well) and I need to switch the lights off and on again to sort it. Not sure if its a bad earth or anything to do with the Witter tow bar electrics that were professionally installed a few years back.

Any suggestions please as I'm loathed to pay a stealer hundreds of quid to tell me they cant find the problem!?

Cheers
Ben

Sounds like its the earth, all the lights in the cluster shares a single earth. Remove the cluster and try connecting a earthed wire to the earth of one of the light (take the bulb off from the fog light and attach the wire in to nagative side of the holder). This way if it works then you know its the earth. Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto

Just a question, have you replaced any bulbs yourself recently? I once accidentally replaced a rear brake light with the wrong wattage / voltage whatever bulb and whenever I touched the brakes my headlights came on. It was a Volvo though.
