Well these are my second set, new on in beginning of November. Just out of interest tried a full on uphill launch on packed snow, or at least as much of a full on launch as you can do, not even a hint of losing grip. Over the last few days, assuming not deliberately trying to mess about, the only time any slide or trigger of abs has been on the most slippery surface you can get, namely smooth ice with a thin covering of water. Even then all easily kept under control. |

Yes exactly - since my post above I was stuck in traffic at Birdlip and decided to cut down a tiny lane that I know to avoid the traffic. The lane was 2 to 3 inches of solid ice with the external temp at plus 2 so a thin film of water on top. Uphill was fine and used HDC downhill to be safe. Had one small sideways slip in some icy ruts but made in through no problem. Passed an abandoned Subaru FL2 HSE Auto Galway Green

Unfortunately, my initial enthusiasm and ongoing praise for these tyres has now waned somewhat as the tyres have developed severe cracking / perishing over the past 9 or so months. This is apparently a known problem with these (Made in Russia) tyres and has been reported by others on this forum and you tube.

Don't muck about. Go online and file a small claims action against the seller and "join" the action against the manufacturer. Initial cost about £60. They will both receive notice from the various County Courts and they will HAVE to answer the charges. If they don't answer...you win. Alternatively they will have to respond with a reasonable defence; either way you are pretty secure within a six year period if the goods are not "merchantable quality". I did the same thing against PC World on a £20 item which was only 18 months old and had no moving parts. The defence was similiar; only guaranteed for 12 months, contact the manufacturer. No thanks. I paid and claimed £230 for my time, court time, replacement cost, legal on-line fees etc. AND WON THE LOT. |

I am pleased to say that Nokian contacted me and finally resolved this problem for me under their warranty.

I bought some Nokians earlier this year before I came across this thread- they are still in the garage waiting to be put on.
