door seal

hi my driver side door seal ( the soft inner rubber one) is showing excessive wear and in fact has a hole worn in it

is this a warranty job as the car only has <14k on the clock

if its not warranty do you know how easy they are to fit ? is it a do at home job or a dealer job ?

Its worn away because you drag you feet over it as you got in and out, you need to watch carefully you dont catch it.
I suppose they will say its worn and torn and not a fault due to manufacture?

no its not worn there, its worn about 1/2 way up. I cleared out the inside of the care recently and had to hoover the door seals and it looked fine then. Must have been caused in the last few days

anyway is replacing it a user job or a garage job ?

Could it have been the Hoover hose that caused it ?

I've had two door seals replaced under warranty (passenger side front). No problems at all at dealer.

It a very easy job if you're moderately handy. There are bound to be aftermarket replacements available, if not find an online breaker's yard and make sure they're upto scratch before buying.

Rubbers would be better if fitted to the doors, rather than the body but we live in hope of such design evolutions.

Aaaaaah!! They are!
Both the door and body has seals. Whistle
Otherwise the interior wouldn't be such a pleasant place to be, let alone wading through a body of water. MY15
