Ireland 2012 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Stornoway Grey
Fuel cap locked

had this problem this morning, was able to slide the veneer top sideways to get it off but then there was a black hinge underneath. With difficulty I unscrewed the fuel bung and filled up.
Later I accessed the passenger footwell fuse box, and with gymnastic contortions lying on my back with my feet along the passenger seat fully extended back, got the f34 fuse out with my fishing forceps. Small break in the wire when you hold it up to the light, replaced it with one of the red 10A spares ( thanks Landrover) and voila, back in business.

I really thought it was a mechanical problem. I think it must have blown when I accidentally pressed the car start button when the car was running.
