DS Sport on loan for the week

Humm

First thoughts

1. Its some sort of black / grey - looks like a fox turd on wheels ( in case you are not aware - i HATE black / grey cars )
2. Much quieter in the cabin on start up, and when driving - u would suspect a different engine if not told otherwise
3. Love the 9 speed box, not perfect, but light years in front of the 6 speed box of marbles in the freelanders
4. hate the poor rear view visibility
5. hate the door mirrors, reduced view compared to the FL2
6. drives much more like a car, less wallow, corners better
7. door card is too high - where can I rest my builders arm Sad
8. a few rattles from parcel shelf and windows
9 love the button to activate the rear camera
10 not sure about having the NAV maps on a SD card in the arm rest box
11 where is the dash DVD player gone Sad kids will be pi55ed
12 new car - why no built in dash cameras - sort of makes sense if you think about it.
13 No CD Player - many people who buy these cars will be of a certain age and will have a CD collection
14. Still loving the 9 speed and Updated SATNAV and increased MPG
15. Love the 7 seats, wit the middle row sliding forward to increase load space
16 still undecided on the looks
17 stop start works well and is seemless. well overdue, I dont know why it was not added to AUTO FL2's
18 for Me I get at least 20% more MPG than in my MY13 SD4 HSE
19 Almost no road noise from the tyres
20 Off Road Navigation appears to be an option my loan car does not have - dealer has confirmed this
21 Rear view camera NAg screen upon activation is a distraction in its self, and obscures nearly a third of the screen.
as a warning message is is counter productive, and limits the rear view for several seconds. Daft idea.
22 DAB Radio works everywhere for me, compared to my FL2 whose DAB is total Censored .

Must take an ewoke for a test drive, if it is as refined and as quiet as the DS, and the gearbox performs as well, and it has the same updated SATNAV - it could be a close call on which car buy next.

I like it soo far.

CG possibly, though have a property development in flight at the moment, so will wait until completed and see how much spare cash I have - want to avoid finance if poss.
also interested in the iggnywillyunpronouncable name engine to come out - may be better on fuel

oh, what MPG can one expect fro a AUTO DS sport - anyone?

I understand that there is a new diesel emissions standard coming into play in September for new cars so presumably that's what the new Ingenium engine is aimed at. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

I had a DS SE manual as a courtesy vehicle for a half day on Thursday. Initial impressions very similar to PCheaven. You sit in a more car like position looking across the bonnet rather than down on it, - this makes judging the front corners more difficult. On starting, the engine did sound much quieter than the FL. In motion it was quiet and very car like, - a very pleasant drive. Rear window looks very small through the rear view mirror and wing mirrors are much smaller. Quietness in motion made the odd occasional squeak from the dashboard more noticeable.
In SE trim it is very basic with a bland black interior. Very Germanic, which might well have been LR's intention.
For me, I would wait and try again with the new engine, 9 speed auto, higher spec, lighter interior option and hopefully 5 seats. In the meantime I reserve judgement and await developments.

I find the cirrus interior brightens up the cabin well, a lot less claustrophobic than the ebony.

The courtesy car we had also had the glass sunroof. I would image that that combined with the Cirrus interior shown by J77 would transform the inside.

We were in the Barcelona showroom a few weeks ago while we had a minor problem sorted. There were several DS's on display. A white DS HSE with a black roof looked very smart. They also had a white DS with the 5 seat option. In fact, except for one vehicle, all the LR models were white, - must be a heat thing for the Spanish!

Australia 2015 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Auto Aintree Green

Still no signs of DS's here and as I'm in the CBD that's where they'll show up first!
Blink and miss it TV advertisement about DNA very disappointing and very forgettable!
White is hugely popular here obviously with our climate. Interestingly why you guys appear to specify more brighter interiors
than here in Australia Laughing
Love J77's interior Thumbs Up but would be hard to live with here in Australia! Oppressively bright for our climate!
"Black Roof" option here!!!! Well you'd really have to like that combo and have undercover
Parking in summer with 37-43 degree outside temperature for at least 6 months of the year!
And Yes! Aintree Green's not that much better but heart overruled head and I have undercover parking! Whistle
JLRA are already canning 2wd version on DS sighting dismal Evoke 2wd sales! Press Havn't cotton'd onto 5/2 no spare yet so that will be interesting considering be first for any LR vehicle here - I'm
Guessing that will go down as well as 2wd sales so lets hope there's a whole new market ready to ditch the many other marques in this segment? MY15

Ukraine 2013 Freelander 2 2.0T SE Auto Fuji White

Haven't seen any driving around here and it's LR / RR hunting ground! Agree with the colours, white with light interiors & no sunroof so one does not remove a layer of skin from ar-- or top of head for us old dinosaurs! There are quite a few black LRs & RRs for those who have not learnt yet.

The only DS I have seen is on page 64 http://www.freel2.com/forum/topic20945-945.html which was & probably still is a dealer car.

Cars seem to take a long time to get here. My Freelander is a MY13 & my previous car was a year old when I bought it new. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!
