Some strange issues with the Bluetooth and stop-start

Hopefully someone will be able to help before I fold and take it to a specialist Evil or Very Mad

Since we bought the FL2 in November the stop start, although used rarely as I don;t do much stop-start driving, has always worked fine... until recently the car would stop then quickly restart again - even when nothing extra was running to drain the battery.

Now it won't stop even when everything electrical is turned off

Possibly a dud battery? It's still on the original 2010 one but I would have expected it to last longer than 5 years Confused

Also the Bluetooth in the car has been playing up. it will connect to the phone fine, but when a call is made there's total silence in the car when it is ringing at the other end, and nothing at all when the call is answered. I've tried to re-pair the phone but all the setting are showing a padlock so I can't do anything!

Help greatly appreciated Thumbs Up

I would say the start stop is a battery issue. I have a late 2010 facelift and my start stop hasn't worked in ages and the battery was tested and isnt holding a charge properly. Haven't got round to changing it.

Interestingly I also had that Bluetooth thing happen twice yesterday - tried calling someone and the phone said it was ringing but no sound. Phone eventually cut out. Same thing again then all fine. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues
2019 DS. Terribly unreliable.
Sold DS for a 2021 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Fingers crossed....
Sold Outlander for a 2014 SD4 SE Tech because I’m mental
Now greatly regret selling the Outlander. MPG of the FL2 is atrocious and so are the fuel bills. Fun though 😎
Couldn’t afford the fuel bills so back to an older Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Significantly better than I remembered it to be…

Strange that they've both started doing the same thing at almost the same time Laughing

I'll give the battery a good charge on the CTEK and try it again, but it sounds the most logical cause. I'm shocked that it's gone like this already though Shocked

I tried that line with the dealer who broke the news about the battery. Not interested as batteries can easily have a lifespan less than 4 years if not looked after. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues

it's not as if I'm running a winch and 600W worth of extra spot lights off it! Rolling Eyes

Incidentally my old Tomb Raider is, and it's old 2001 battery was just replaced last year Laughing

Looks like I'll just need to get another Yausa monster for the FL2

If you decide to change it don't forget that stop-start models need an AGR battery. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone
300TDi Disco (bought new - terrible car) sent back after 18 months
Freelander 1 Estate - leased, given back at end of lease
200TDi Disco (bought from a mate with 100,000 on the clock) - Gone
Disco 2 TD5 - sold and exported to France
FR2 TD4 GS - Gone
FR2 SD4 HSE - Now changed for a DS
New model ex-demo Evoque S 180 in white
Unable to order a new DS, so gave up. Now have a Volvo S90 Recharge.

Good point PM. The one I looked up a while back was the right type. Places like Halfords online checker don't give the right ones. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues

Was sitting in the driveway at the time

I think the engine was running, I'll try again with just the ignition on

Ask any knowledable dealer and they will tell you how intermittent stop/start really is Neutral I have to give my car a good run every week as I do town driving 7miles each way daily. Our full fat Disco's in the family are the same! MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior
