I still see my last TD5 Disco every day as I sold it to my mate who only lives 50 yards away. |

I bought an ex demo Antara from a lad I know who is a dealership manager. It was 9 months old and done 1300 miles. It was one of the first about and in 3 years of ownership I must have seen about 20 others. I like the car, it was very good in the winter of 09/10 when we had a lot of snow, plus to me me the car seemed sturdy and solid. I had two problems with it, alarm tilt sensor needed replacing and when the washer fluid was frozen the pipes supplying the wipers often seperated. It was an automatic but the fuel economy was pathetic! That was the main reason for getting rid. Even the newer model with a different engine are heavey on fuel. Shame really as I would have another as they are cheap compared to other SUV's. Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

The mkIII Cavalier SRi was NEVER a patch on the MKII. As any purists will confirm. They had it right 1987-88. and couldn't improve on brilliance after that. We used to munch XR3i/Orion 1.6i Ghia Bros-boy wannabee's for fun in the MKII....the MKIII was slower, couldn't corner as quickly and had an altogether useless gearbox mated to the original block. Conclusive proof that an overload of electronics crippled the car. In its original form, the Bosche LE Jetronic and ZF Gearbox killed most things on the road at the time. As I recall, the only things that weren't catchable were Sierra Cosworths/Senator 3.0i/Monetego Turbo and that was about it!! Oh happy days....no speed cameras, and lots of fun "hunting" the boy racers on a Friday night... Foraging near Gaydon.... —————————————— MY13 HSE Lux SD4, Baltic Blue - current, 30,000> miles without fault MY12 HSE 2.2 SD4, Sumatra Black - gone after 10 months/43,000 fault-free miles |

Asked the neighbour about his Antara last night (2013 model) , he and his wife love driving it and he says it very comfortable but after a touring holiday he says the mpg is a disapointment about 27 (manual) . |

I liked my Antara, fuel consumption was a let down as I would have another as they are a cheaper 4x4/SUV. I had a vectra before the Antara and I thought the build quality of the vectra was better. The Antara was also sold as a Chevrolet Captiva. It was also sold in the USA as a Saturn something or other. Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.
