None of the lamps are covered under warranty, they are serviceable items, trying to pull a fast one and you're on a hiding to nothing really.

Oops. Don't get me wrong.. I know the lamp is covered. Was asking regarding the headlight unit itself - the whole inside is covered in shards. they've even got to the indicator! Just wondering if LR would clean it out. Feels like a long shot then I take it.

I think the headlights are sealed, the clear front is bonded onto the housing, I think others have tried previously to separate them with little success.

They will explode if they get wet, but inside a headlamp I would have thought it was fairly well sealed against water ingress, unless the rear cover wasnt fitted properly or its seal was intact? |

Thanks guys. The seal is fine. I remember flashing someone a few times - perhaps this vibration from the solenoid was enough to pop the lens.

Never touch the halogen glass, hot or cold, with fingers as traces of one's body oils and grease will be left of the glass. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!
