Walnut veneer fascia

I have been looking at the walnut 'veneer' fascia kits for my FL2 SE and think it will look very good with the alpaca leather upholstery. A company called The Walnut Dash Company are listing them on eBay for approx. £50 and I was wondering if anyone had any experience of fitting them, their quality and longevity? Tattoos - Why would you choose to look like the wall of a public toilet?

If you bide your time you will see the genuine LR ones on Fleabay from time to time, at least with those you do know what you are getting. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

The dealer told me the LR kit is real wood veneer & for the £396 they want for it it should be gold plated though if you check fleabay which is where I got mine from & that was from an LR dealer you will find them now & again for around £100 as LR put them out on disposal lists to shift them presumably after realising that no body in their sane state of mind would be dumb enough to pay £396!! (Past) Freelander 2 HSE 2010 MY In Rimini Red.

Never quite seen the logic in putting thin strips of 'wood' in a perfectly good interior??? Shocked

Yes, I got mine on eBay from a LR dealer for £100. Other makes seem to go a bit OTT with too many pieces and not quite the right shades of wood.

Despite various earlier comments we have ordered the pukka LR part from 4X4partsdirect for £80 free delivery and I am sure with the alpaca leather it will look superb. Tattoos - Why would you choose to look like the wall of a public toilet?

My HGV is fitted with the wood look plastic, don't ask me why cos its a working truck, however when you fit it make sure the surface is clean, clean, clean oh and clean cos the stuff in this truck keeps lifting off. 2009 FL2 GS

FREELANDER 2 - GENUINE WOOD VENEER FACIA (sic) DASH KIT.
Land Rover Part # LR002462

Type that into fleebay - I have just purchased one for less than £70.
It IS a genuine LR part & it IS EXCELLENT quality

I won't say any more as I would probably breach the forum's rules.

I have wood trim in my HSE, but silver trim around the gear knob/traction knob (think it was factory standard). Is the full kit the same colour or did a blind man fit the trim on mine at the factory??

Be careful as there is a full kit (which is expensive) and then the finisher beam (2 parts) which is the factory item and a lit cheaper.

Depends on whether you want to replicate the factory fit wood or add more wood with an accessory kit.

Smelleee...

It has just arrived (2 days after placing order, £80 with free delivery) and, yes, it is the full LR arcticle, and yes, it has a piece that covers the silver surround of the gearlever, so it looks like you may have had a Friday build!
Will post pics in my gallery once fitted - won't be for a week or so as we are off to the piste in Italy. Tattoos - Why would you choose to look like the wall of a public toilet?

I'm not totally sure, but I think that HSE wood is slightly different to the accessory kit i.e in colour and texture, probably not as shiny either and the HSE might not have the gear lever surround bit; what I'm trying to say is that the kit is not the same as the factory fitted wood.
