United Kingdom 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Zermatt Silver

I recently fitted the chrome tailgate handle cover to my 2008 HSE.I got it from Powerful UK.

It's only a temporary measure, until I decide whether to colour-code or not.I'm sure it could easily be painted.
I do keep thinking about plasti-dipping my front grille gunmetal grey, along with the side vents, rather than black, because it might be a step too far.
Any comments would be appreciated.

The handle is colour coded on mine, looks much better in my opinion. Had the D-pillars painted as well.

And the black badges are a must, especially on a black vehicle.

Yep, found one of the D pillar, was done a matt black finish to look like new plastic, rather than gloss.

When I saw this thread I thought it was referring to badges like HSE, GS etc. A BMW dealer once told me that you can pay extra for the "Delete Badge" option so that no one knows whether you have a top spec one or not. However in the UK, people tend to pay the extra when they buy a bottom of the range model whilst in Germany it's generally the top spec ones that are debadged as they don't like to be seen to be showing off. Tells you something I suppose. Confused 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

Dorset - my main topic was supposed to be the debadge of the "Freelander 2 and the "SE Td4" but we got carried away with the vents and boot handle lol!

I took all the badging off the back and added the "Land Rover" centered across the middle a la RRS I believe?

It looks OK but having L A N D R O V E R spelled out twice on the back looks unplanned... hence the discussion of the handle... if you are going to have the letters spelling it out then the handle really needs to be plain... 2008 Freelander 2 HSE Si6 Black/Black - Hers

Yes! I agree with Cambo. But I'm liking the letters along the bottom trailing edge so hence my suggestion! Thumbs Up MY15

Ah I see - the plan is to get the facelift handle in the long term so the top lettering will go...

I'm not a fan of the Land Rover lettering across the back, I think it looks better with all of the lettering removed (which is what I've done on mine).

I've toyed with the idea of removing Land Rover from the front too, and have played around with photoshopped images to see the result. Aesthetically it looks better, but at the same time it somehow looks wrong, so for the moment at least the front lettering is staying.

The German habit of "de-badging" (not de-bagging) was supposed to be a way of not appearing to have a better car than your boss. Sensitive about such things over there apparently, and more likely to happen, since most people don't have company cars. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone
300TDi Disco (bought new - terrible car) sent back after 18 months
Freelander 1 Estate - leased, given back at end of lease
200TDi Disco (bought from a mate with 100,000 on the clock) - Gone
Disco 2 TD5 - sold and exported to France
FR2 TD4 GS - Gone
FR2 SD4 HSE - Now changed for a DS
New model ex-demo Evoque S 180 in white
Unable to order a new DS, so gave up. Now have a Volvo S90 Recharge.
