England 2012 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Lux Auto Santorini Black
Rear Wiper defective

Good Afternoon Ladies and Gents
My FR2 rear wiper was juddering the other day and today when I needed it, it failed. The required fuse box is behind the glove box..got there. Next step should be simple and thats to check the fuse....however the diagram that I would expect to be easy to read isn't for me at the moment.

I can't see how it relates to the fuses in the box...Ant help much appreciated. Thanks

The fuse is F20 15A Blue I use to pull it out to stop it working when I had the bike rack on, which sat on the rear window. MY13 HSE LUX Aintree Green

It's not the fuse, it's the motor. Common fault.

13/15mm bolt to remove wiper arm.
2 X Pozi screws on underside of boot (in the two hand recesses).
Sharp pull and liner comes off.
3X10/13mm bolts hold the unit on
1 electrical connector.

It's a sub 10 minute job. I've done 3 now!

I forget the exact bolt sizes, but they are common sizes.

Once removed you will probably find its got water in it from a leaking wiper shaft seal?

Best to remove the fuse until it's fixed. They have been known to cause a fire in the wiring - wiper keeps trying to work but can't and eventually overheats the electrics. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone
300TDi Disco (bought new - terrible car) sent back after 18 months
Freelander 1 Estate - leased, given back at end of lease
200TDi Disco (bought from a mate with 100,000 on the clock) - Gone
Disco 2 TD5 - sold and exported to France
FR2 TD4 GS - Gone
FR2 SD4 HSE - Now changed for a DS
New model ex-demo Evoque S 180 in white
Unable to order a new DS, so gave up. Now have a Volvo S90 Recharge.

I've just fixed mine, it's the same common fault as the X-Type Jaguar suffers from, which I fixed on my X-Type a couple of years ago.

You need to take the motor off the door, remove the T10 screws holding the metal cover on, tap (with a big hammer) the shaft out, clean the crud from the shaft with a wire brush & emery cloth, clean the tube the shaft runs in (a small bottle washer works well), cover the shaft and other gears with lots of high quality grease, re-assemble.

Apache, they are 3 x 10mm nuts holding the motor on.
